Innovation Kyoto 2016 Investment Limited Partnership ("KYOTO-iCAP No.1 Fund"), with Kyoto University Innovation Capital Corporation ("Kyoto iCAP") (Head office: Sakyo-ku, Kyoto; Representative Director: Koji Murota) as unlimited liability partner, has made an investment in SOUSEITechnology Co. (Head office: Tokyo; Representative Director: Kazumasa Nomura), a venture company that utilizes research results from Kyoto University.

Execution of Investment in SOUSEI Technology, Inc.
SOUSEI Technology Inc. is a startup company that specializes in the development of housing tech. The company's My Home application "knot" is a web service that connects homeowners and related businesses by centrally managing information necessary for checking the progress of drawings and specifications until the completion of the home, and for maintenance after delivery. The HOME OS "v-ex" is a device that provides home appliance control, home condition management, and various ancillary services, enabling the IoT of the home.

Under the technical guidance of Associate Professor Kyu Yanagisawa of the Department of Architecture, Kyoto University Graduate School of Engineering, the company plans to construct an experimental house for housing IoT based on "v-ex" and conduct empirical research involving monitored occupancy. In this research, we will analyze human behavior in the house through various types of sensing and conduct research on the principles of resident behavior. We also aim to construct a next-generation home energy management system using photovoltaic power generation and storage batteries that are not linked to the grid.

Kyoto iCAP, together with Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Co., Ltd. and Shinkin Capital Co., Ltd. have invested a total of ¥450 million in a third-party allocation of new shares, with an investment of ¥100 million.
