Innovation Kyoto 2016 Investment Limited Partnership ("KYOTO-iCAP No.1 Fund"), with Kyoto University Innovation Capital Corporation ("Kyoto iCAP", Head Office: Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan; Representative Director: Ko Kusumi) as general partner, has made an additional investment in Drawbridge (Head Office: California; Representative Director: Lee McCracken; hereinafter "Drawbridge Health"), together with Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Co. In conjunction with this investment, Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd. has entered into a joint research agreement with Drawbridge Health.

Drawbridge Health is committed to improving healthcare worldwide through research and development of new blood collection systems, including the development of the OneDraw A1C Test System, which is FDA approved in 2019 and CE marked in 2020. The OneDraw is a compact medical device capable of collecting and storing capillary blood samples from the upper arm and stably at room temperature; the OneDraw requires no special training to perform blood collection comfortably and easily.

Professor Nobuya Inagaki and Assistant Professor Kaori Ikeda of the Department of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Nutrition, Kyoto University Hospital are conducting joint research with Drawbridge Health, taking into consideration the practical application of blood collection tests outside medical institutions, which is one of the challenges in expanding telemedicine. Kyoto iCAP hopes that this capital increase will promote the development of a new blood collection system developed by Drawbridge Health in Japan and around the world, and that this blood collection system will contribute to the health of various people.
